1、 The Physical and Chemical Properties of Naphthalene
精萘(CH)是萘经过升华提纯后的产物,为白色结晶性粉末,具有特殊的气味,在常温常压下较为稳定。其熔点约为 80.2℃,沸点 218℃,不溶于水,易溶于有机溶剂如乙醇、乙醚等 。从化学结构来看,精萘具有稠环芳烃的特性,分子结构相对稳定,但在特定条件下,其化学性质会发生变化,从而可能引发腐蚀现象。

精萘对大多数金属的腐蚀性相对较弱。在常温干燥环境中,精萘与金属如铁、铜、铝等接触时,一般不会发生明显的化学反应和腐蚀现象。这是因为精萘本身的化学活性在常规条件下并不足以直接与金属发生强烈的氧化还原反应。然而,当环境中存在水分时,情况会有所不同。水分可以作为电解质,在精萘与金属表面形成微小的原电池,促使金属发生电化学腐蚀 。

The aromatic ring structure in naphthalene molecules may undergo complexation or substitution reactions with metals at high temperatures, leading to corrosion of the metal surface, resulting in corrosion pits or surface peeling. However, this situation is relatively rare in practical applications and usually requires specific high temperature and long-term contact conditions.

塑料与橡胶:精萘对部分塑料和橡胶材料具有一定的腐蚀性。由于精萘易溶于有机溶剂,而一些塑料和橡胶在化学结构上与有机溶剂存在相似性,精萘会渗透到塑料或橡胶内部,导致其溶胀、变形甚至开裂 。例如,聚氯乙烯(PVC)材质的容器在长期接触精萘后,会出现变软、表面发黏的现象;天然橡胶制品与精萘接触,橡胶的弹性会逐渐丧失,变得硬脆。因此,在储存和运输精萘时,应避免使用这类对精萘耐受性差的塑料和橡胶材料。

木材:木材主要由纤维素、半纤维素和木质素等组成,精萘对木材的腐蚀性较小。但在潮湿环境下,精萘可能会吸附在木材表面,随着时间推移,会使木材的颜色发生变化,出现泛黄或发黑现象,同时木材的物理性能也会受到一定影响,强度有所下降 。不过,这种腐蚀作用相对缓慢,通常不会对木材结构造成快速且严重的破坏。
Wood: Wood is mainly composed of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, and refined naphthalene has less corrosiveness to wood. But in humid environments, refined naphthalene may adsorb on the surface of wood, and over time, it can cause the color of the wood to change, resulting in yellowing or blackening.
